To preserve the patina on the contoured surfaces of original floors, a belt moving at 4000' pm is guided by a craftsman's expert graphite gloved hand. He individually polishes each board, continually varying the pressure on the surfaces to preserve the contour and delicate patina.
At your jobsite, we meticulously fit and install each handsanded floorboard, planing and sanding the edges and end joints for a smooth transition between boards, leaving the rich patina and subtle contours of the aged floor undisturbed.
Finally, five coats of tung oil are applied. Between each coat the floor is polished until it is as silken as a rose petal. Only hand polishing can yield the most lustrous fine finish imaginable...
At BABA. the aged wooden floor becomes a work of art.
